( Thank God they cut those trees down for that shady awning)
It's been a rough week of depression, home building projects and trying to stay afloat in the current mess. So I only have some random quotes that I like to collect for your entertainment and encourage you to share your own. Some have attributions and some are just things we hear eavesdropping, read on a bumper sticker or remember from a conversation as particularly pithy.
There's an hour of my life I won't get back.
Oh check your tone of voice and try that again. ( good for threatening children)
Wow, theres so much factual wrong with that sentenec to unpack.
He has enough emotional baggage to take down an airplane.
" I reject your reality and substitute my own." Adam Savage
" I always wanted to be somebody but I should have been more specific." Lily Tomlin ( Search for Signs of Intellegent Life)
Madness takes it's toll, please have exact change.
Honey I've seen milk darker than you. ( when comparing skin tones)
"Happiness is having a large, loving, close knit family-in another city." George Burns
It's so cold if it were raining, it would be snow. (I actually said this once)
"Try everything once except incest and folk dancin." Sir Thomas Beecham
I avoid cliches in writing but enjoy collecting them for my amusement. Especially clunky or funny metaphors we use for death. Kick the bucket, shuffled off the mortal coil ( thanks Shakesspeare), bought the farm, take the big dirt nap, and my favorite, assume room temperature. Craziness has it's own variations as well. Not too tightly wound, not playing with a full deck, a sandwich short of a picnic, the lights are on but there's nobody home.
Ah there so much cleverness, if only I could remember it at the right time, not at 3 am.
