Time for Revolution

Times are strange when the comedians and court jesters can't find anything funny in politics anymore. "A contract between government and races, healthcare workers and Vets has been broken, that's why people are angry." John Stewart stated on The Joe Rogen Experience.

The world is in trouble when the UN and scientists says "Oh shit"

about climate change but countries and corporations are still in denial for profit.

"Since the late 1970s, oil companies have published research broadly in line with the standard views on global warming. Despite this, oil companies organized a climate change denial campaign to disseminate public disinformation for several decades" Wikipedia.

America is bonkers when the pandemic is viewed as political issue, not a health problem. Like something you believe in or not. So we have delusional, terrified adults throwing temper tantrums like a spoiled child when asked to simply wear a mask, as if doing so is some kind of liberal conspiracy. Personal liberty isn't a issue when you go to the dentist of doctor and they are wearing a mask. We don't see people having a hissy fit when a store signs says "No shirt, no shoes, no service."

We are living in a time of change and people feel change will leave them behind so they react in fear. It's time to recognize the change going on around us and embrace it. The voice of reason out there? Let's start with Pope Francis.

[the pandemic has] “. . . given us a chance to develop new ways of living. . . Already we can see how the earth can recover if we allow it to rest: the air becomes cleaner, the waters clearer, and animals have returned to many places from where they had previously disappeared. . . The pandemic has brought us to a crossroads. We must use this decisive moment to end our superfluous and destructive goals and activities and to cultivate values, connections and activities that are life giving. We must examine our habits of energy usage, consumption, transportation and diet. We must eliminate the superfluous and destructive aspects of our economies and nurture life-giving ways to trade, produce and transport goods.”

It's time he said  “to listen to the voice of creation. . . remember that we are part of this interconnected web of life, not its masters. The disintegration of biodiversity, spiraling climate disasters, and unjust impact of the current pandemic on the poor and vulnerable: all these are a wakeup call in the face of our rampant greed and consumption.”

I couldn't agree more. It's time to stop the race to higher profits, it's time to stop listening to media, money interest and politicians get rich then tell us that taking care of ourselves by demanding healthcare, better wages and a slower pace is dangerous socialism. What ungrateful serfs! Is money more important than anything else?

It's time we return to a normal functioning society instead of an hysterical, paranoid oligarchy where essential workers are praised but not paid for risking their lives. We need to acknowledge the mistakes of the past, live in full awareness of the present and assure the future with sound decisions.

         Now.
