I’m Tired of Living in Interesting Times

I haven’t written on my blog site for a while because I truly feel like I’ve run out interesting things to say. Maybe it’s the stress of the era we are living in, times are changing in ugly ways or maybe I’m growing older with fewer things to offer. Maybe it’s because my life is more like Groundhog Day with little variety.

When I was a young, ambitious writer I dreamed of having a weekly column like Dave Berry. Now I realize I would have dried up quickly. How do writers do this week after week? No wonder he retired when he did.

I used to have so many stories to tell. Whole novels, a cast of interesting characters, a wealth of interest and ideas on multiple subjects. Now it’s struggle to find anything that matters and little strength to continue and that’s sad.

Offering insight to living with autism is the obvious commentary, along with humor but –there’s nothing and I don’t know what strikes the readers interest either. What ever the reason, I hope inspiration returns.

I suspect it's difficult to write entertaining and prescient blogs without feeling trite. One hopes to find something wise or inspirational to add to the diatribe but the incredulity of the reality seems to suck all the air out of the opportunity.

I’ve found you to be clever, informative and inspirational. However, as has been said, these are difficult times for inspiration or positive, motivating analysis.
