Mars

 

    Mars, the fourth planet from the sun. The Red Planet and sometimes the angry red planet. To the Greeks it's Ares, the God of War. It's all over our language, Mars is the symbol for males, Mars candy and Mars Needs Women.

    There's a lot of nonsense in astrology and when people speak of planetary influences I usually roll my eyes -whatever, but when they mention Mars in retrograde-- this one may be right.

    The retrograde motion is caused by the planets different speeds of orbits around the Sun. As our perspective changes, it causes positions of the planets to move from side-to-side in the sky.

    When it's in retrograde, enthusiasm wanes and motivation is harder to find. It means foul ups will occur in travel, communications and understanding. Mars is also associated with anger, aggression and conflict. Sound familiar?

    When Mars does it's "I'm going to screw up your plans" thing, take time to chill, hold off on projects, be patient and drink a lot until it blows over. Oh yeah , it's currently in retrograde until February 23rd.
